Our History
PG Specialty Cleaners, also known as PG Esporta - Specialty Cleaners, is a specialty cleaning and sanitizing service. PG Specialty Cleaners was the first to invest in this new innovative idea of cleaning and sanitizing in 1999, originally designed for hockey equipment. Being the first, owner Susan McKeown, experimented with many other different specialty items for cleaning, throughout the many years we now offer the service of cleaning and sanitizing from head to toe and feather to leather and So Much More!

The exciting part of the services we offer is this So Much More! Over the years of experimenting we also used it as a time to research other items for cleaning and sanitizing. The cleaning of mold, mildew, water, and fire damaged items, like polar bear skin rugs to stuffed animals.

Within my research I learned more about fire – the carcinogens - mold, mildew, sewage, water damage, body fluids, different harmful bugs, and many more infectious diseases that we have in our items daily. With lab reports of just what is in our sports equipment, which is very scary, I was unaware like so many people. My research got me looking into the service industry that deals with this daily: firemen, hospitals, coroners, care aids, search and rescue, the list goes on. When I learned of carcinogens, my first concerns were of the men and women who deal with this - our firefighters. Learning of their cancer rate of stomach and brain cancers was disturbing. Our biggest breathing organ is our skin and with what is in our equipment - like hockey gear and work gear - it's absorbed into our skin especially when we're sweating and working hard.

Through the many years we have dealt with infectious diseases, odor, pets, blood, mold, fire, bugs, leathers, suedes, feathers, from footwear to industrial tents.
Our other services include restoration, minor repairs, whitening, and reconditioning of many specialty items, steam cleaning and upholstery cleaning.

We have since continued to provide and experiment with our cleaning services in Prince George and the surrounding communities.
